This disc contains 2,500 different software programs. If you are thinking about simply listing the names of these programs on your printer, make sure you have plenty of paper -- the listing alone goes on for over 40 pages. There is something for just about anyone who uses an IBM or compatible personal computer and is interested in exploring available shareware and freeware programs.Software in a wide range of application and utility areas is packaged on this disc, including: line and text editing, data communications, personal and business finance, hard disk utilities, graphics, device drivers, educational programs, word processors, macros, spreadsheet templates, databases, accounting and bookkeeping, source code, games (we lost count of the number of spacewar-type games), and miscellaneous programming utilities.Instead of investing hundreds of dollars in a mainstream software package, it often makes more sense to see what software is available in the public domain. No more long-term logons to bulletin boards, no more collections of floppy disk software, no more hard disks cluttered with miscellaneous programs. The low price of this disc means that you can try out these programs for less than a nickel each!

Over 1,000 science and mathematics lesson plans for kindergarten through eighth grade are contained on this disc. It is the perfect teaching aid to expand or fill in the gaps in any educational program.
The lessons were developed over a fifteen-year period with an $80 million investment from the National Science Foundation. The Science Helper version of these lessons includes up to 30% more material than previously published versions.
These "hands on" lessons require inexpensive materials. All lessons have received extensive classroom testing and are current.
The Science Helper project, directed by Dr. May Budd Rowe of the University of Florida, includes lesson plans from these projects:
• SAPA - Science: A Process
Approach
• COPES - Conceptually Oriented
Program for Elementary Science
• SCIS - Science Curriculum
Improvement Study
• ESSP - Elementary Science Study
Project
• USMES - Unified Science/Math
for Elementary School,
• MINNEMAST - Minnesota
Math/Science
• ESS - Elementary Science Study
All lesson plans contain teacher-written abstracts and can easily be viewed or printed. The Science Helper comes with comprehensive retrieval software that allows you to search lesson plan titles on grade level, academic subject, curriculum project, words or phrases, science processes, and content themes.
